One of the main challenges Knauf faced with their sales process was that they would have to manually produce very large and complex technical specifications for every potential project throughout Australia. This was a problem as this process would often take longer than 80 hours, thus leaving Knauf open to losing potential projects, high overhead, and a siloed way of delivering information to potential customers.
The Knauf engineering team were looking for a change. The solution needed to be easy to use, cater to the engineering and sales teams, produce highly complex technical specifications and be accessible from one single location. Technical specification approvals and legal compliance were also very important factors as the system would be used as a tool for real business and presented to the outside world.
We used AGILE which is a time boxed, iterative approach to the software delivery and development that would help the software engineers build the solution incrementally with a large amount of flexibility and customer involvement throughout the evolution of the product.
